The Barcelona’’92 medal table comprised a total of 815 medals: 260 gold, 257 silver and 298 bronze. The highest number of medals (112) was won by the Unified Team, which was the name used by the Olympic sports team of the former Soviet Union before its constituent countries —in the process of becoming independent— formed their own national teams.

The United States of America won the second highest number of medals (108), followed by Germany (82), China (54) and Cuba (31). The fact that the Spanish team came sixth is particularly noteworthy. Indeed, it was considered to be a historic milestone in terms of the number of medals (22) and the impact of the sports in which it won them. Shown below is the medal table listing all the countries that managed to win a medal at the Barcelona’92 Olympic Games.
